We sincerely congratulate one of our long-standing members, Dawn Thorp AO, on being awarded the Order of Australia in the Australia Day honours this year for Services to Nursing and to Medicine in the field of Haematology as an expert clinician and as a mentor.
Dawn is exceptionally regarded nationally and internationally in haematology nursing, haemophilia and transfusion medicine fields. We thank her for her many contributions to our society over the years, as a long-standing member of ANZSBT, as a member of the ANZSBT Science Committee and on being one of the main authors on the first edition of the Guidelines for the Administration of Blood Components Transfusion in 2004.
