AIMS APACE Program

ANZSBT members obtain a significant discount on APACE programme accreditation fees.

The APACE (Australasian Professional Acknowledgement of Continuing Education) scheme is a voluntary programme that recognises continuing education, formal courses and a wide range of professional activities which contribute to your professional growth.

The healthcare industry is undergoing rapid change. We are expected to keep our knowledge and skills up to date to enable us to perform to the highest professional standard. The APACE scheme provides a method by which your professional activities are recognised.

APACE is accepted by the Australian Council for Certification of Medical Laboratory Scientific Workforce (ACCMLSW) as a continuing professional development recognition program. After completion of an APACE cycle, the awarded certificate is valid for two years.

The Australian Council for Certification of Medical Laboratory Scientific Workforce Limited (ACCMLSW) and the National Certification Scheme for the Medical Laboratory Scientific Workforce

ANZSBT would like to inform members of the establishment of the ACCMLSW and ANZSBT’s formal support of it. The ACCMLSW began from a project to develop a National Certification Scheme for the Medical Laboratory Scientific Workforce. The project was led by AIMS and AACB with the assistance of Human Capital Alliance (HCA) and funded by the Australian Government Department of Health through the Quality Use of Pathology Program. The National Certification Scheme for Medical Scientists aims to explore the development and structure of a national professional certification model for the medical laboratory scientist and technician workforce in Australia. ANZSBT was involved in the project, as a medical laboratory science professional group. The new company has now been established and a member of the ANZSBT Council is one of the inaugural Board members in the company.

The implementation plan of the Scheme can be found here….
